Today Jim and I had our first "date" since having Evan. We enjoyed lunch at Olive Garden. Later, while Biddy and Grammy were here Autumn pretended to be a "baby skunk". She crawled over to Biddy and asked if he wanted to pet her and then turned her behind towards him and pretended to spray him and said "oh, stinky". Jim had the camera out and caught this photo of the "stinking". She's a sneaky little skunk!
Biddy and Grammy also did a "shadow puppet" show... but Autumn likes to make shadows with real puppets!
She also likes to play "pirate" but instead of a peg-leg she has a peg-hand... we're not quite sure why!
And Evan rode an elephant - it was quite a night!

Mama, I want to pump
Autumn must think that I like to pump since I am hooked up to the thing eight times a day. Tonight she decided she was going to pump and we were curious to see what she was going to do. She took her plastic pig, but the plastic cow on top of him and then stuck the pump hose in the cow... pretty accurate for the cow part, anyway - LOL.
Meanwhile, Evan is thinking "I don't want that milk!".
Wow...
When I got Autumn up from her nap and was putting her hair up she said...
"That's a barrette for my hair. It's in the shape of a heart."
Clear as day and no missing words... I was impressed but part of me wanted to say "wonder twin powers activate"...

More Snow...
We enjoyed what may be the last round of snow we see this season. We made a snow "Mickey" and played with bubbles in the snow...
Evan camped out in his carrier while all the fun was going on...

Little Mama
Autumn has been asking to hold Evan. I am actually holding him as she doesn't quite get that she has to help him sit up, but she loves to have him on her lap and she gives him lots of kisses and tells him he's "coot" and "nice". Today, when I tried to take him back, she said "no, he's mine". I told her that Mama needed to feed him and she said "I'm his Mama, too - he's mine". I should have made her change his diaper - LOL.

1-2-1 Blast-off
Autumn loves to play in her big box which is a boat, a train, and a "ship'ship" (spaceship). Today she got in and and said "1-2-1 Blast-off. I go to the moon. I take cake.". At least she was prepared for her time away from home!

The bargaining begins...
Tonight we were eating the cookies that Autumn and I made. She had already had enough but wanted more. When I told her "no" she put her fingers together like she was pinching something and asked "a tiny one?". She didn't get a cookie but she did get lots of hugs and kisses for being so cute!

Happy Valentine's Day
We started off our Valentine's Day celebration with some heart-shaped pancakes (they weren't burnt like they look in the photo!). After naptime we gave Autumn some presents. Mama gave her clothes and stickers and Dada got her "Zambi" a "Fur-real elephant friend". At first she was afraid when Zambi would trumpet and move his trunk and ears but then she fed him some "soup" and became friends with him. She even tucked him in to go to sleep. And no Valentine's Day would be complete without heart-shaped cookies - they were yummy!

Logic Skills
Autumn: I can't reach.
Me: Good, you're not supposed to be able to.
Autumn: What we do?
Me: Nothing, we're going to leave it alone.
Autumn: I get fish pole.
The wrapping paper tube is her "fish pole"

Stinky Tongue
Autumn, Evan, and I were sitting on the floor playing "beach" on our blanket and Autumn kept telling me that Evan had a "stinky tongue". I asked her to repeat it a few times and that's what she was saying. I couldn't figure out what that meant and she was getting frustrated with me. Then she said "Mama, look, B'En stinky tongue". When I looked, Evan was sticking out his tongue. I laughed so hard...

Snow Family
We went out and played in the snow again today. The snow was less powdery so we were also able to make snowmen. Thank goodness I had baby carrots in the fridge since Autumn kept asking for "carrot noses"... can't have a snowman without one! Eating snow still topped sledding and making snowmen!

Playing in Bed
Tonight we all played in bed. Autumn shared her Pooh with Evan, held his hand, and gave him many kisses...

Go Evan!
Evan held his bottle by himself today... quite an accomplishment. Hopefully he'll keep it us since his sister was spoiled and refused to hold it herself until she was at least a year old...

Catching Elephants
Evan has learned how to use his hands to grab things- his favorite being the blue elephant that dangles in front of him on his bouncer.
