A few people have asked about gifts for Christmas. We will update this blog as we think of things but here are a few ideas (if you buy something and don't want others to buy the same, please let us know and we can remove it from this list)...
Evan:
Evan still needs a bunch of baby stuff since we did not find out his gender ahead of time. We have updated our registry at Babies'R Us with things we still need for him including sheets, towels, wash rags, books, toys, etc.
-Evan is pretty true to his age in terms of what size clothes he wears (so at 3 months, he'll start wearing 3M clothing, etc.). He's in the 50th percentile for weight which means that the clothes should fit his weight as he's "average" but he is in the 75th percentile for height, which means he's tall and explains why he's growing out of things that have feet attached. As was with Autumn, feetless clothing will last him longer.
-we purchased a lamp and blanket that matches the bedding we got him (bears playing sports)- it was the last one on clearance as the pattern has been discontinued but if anybody wants to get that for him... we just didn't want to take the chance of it being gone before anybody got there to get it. The lamp was $33 and the blanket was $11.
Autumn:
-I bought a few books for her if anybody wants to buy them from me.
-Autumn is pretty true to her age in terms of what size clothes she wears (she's in a 24month/2T now). She's tall so things without feet in them fit better.
-Autumn likes to dress up things but I can't find a non-plastic doll so another idea would be to get a Build-A-Bear/animal (I think they make some that are safe for younger kids) and outfits that are age-appropriate/(no small parts, no plastic or vinyl).
-with the recent recall of Melissa & Doug toys, which go through more testing than most toys, we feel compelled to buy toys that pass European standards. Here are a few ideas..

She makes me laugh...
I was doing the dishes when Autumn yells "I have stinky toes, Mama!"... guess I should have been washing her toes rather than the dishes!

Shopping!
I went to Babies'R Us today since I saw that it was 50% off all their clearance clothing. Evan didn't have much until today when I scored an entire year's worth of clothes for him for about $200! I got 97 items, many that were pants and shirt sets, averaging $2.25 per item! I saved almost $1000 from regular price! No more having to wear his sister's pink outfits when he "goes" through a few outfits a day!

Thanksgiving 2009
We have a lot to be thankful for...even when Evan makes a loud and stinky poop while sitting on Mama's lap!

Hot Mess
Jim and I have been watching too much TV lately since there's not much else to do in the wee hours of the night, and we're picking up the new "cool phrases"... so when we saw Autumn's new fashion statement Jim said "she's a hot mess"... so guess who then says "hot mess"!

No More Monkeys
While I was making dinner I heard Autumn keep repeating something but couldn't hear her. I went into the dining room where she was sitting and she was reading her "Monkey Book" and saying "No More Monkeys on the Bed" each time she turned the page. So cute!
Evan's First Walk
It was a gorgeous November day - almost 70 degrees! We decided to enjoy the afternoon and see the pretty leaves while we went for a walk. Autumn rode her bike (Dada pushed) and Mama pushed Evan in the stroller (after Dada carried Evan all the way up the hill in the carrier since the stroller part we needed was at Biddy's). Grammy came along, too!
